Electronic Lead Wire

Electronic Lead Wire

Torpedo Specialty Wire's Copper Clad Steel is regularly drawn to very small diameters, electroplated and used in electronic leads. Electroplating requires excellent control of cladding and surface smoothness. These same requirements are met for all our clad products.

This high strength property is also inversely related and is demonstrated in the much higher flex fatigue life as compared to copper. Copper clad steel typically yields ten times more cycles than annealed copper.

The quantity of copper, clad over a steel core can be infinitely varied between 1-% and 75% by weight to meet any electrical conductivity requirement between 16% and 80% IACS.

APPLICATIONS:

Lead wire can be cut and formed for use in electronic components such as capacitors, resistors, and diodes.
